My Road Less Travelled is proud to announce their next trail run in the popular Rabbit Series, at yet another beautiful venue. The Captain Carrot Trail Run is taking place on Saturday 17 July 2016 at the Ingwe Bush Camp in Hekpoort. Only an hour’s drive from Johannesburg, this natural setting will make you feel like you are immersed in nature, as you run on either the 5 km, 12 km or 20 km routes.
The start is on an open road to allow you to stretch your legs and warm up for the first kilometre. You will then enjoy winding roads to the bottom of the farm, before a stretch of singletrack and jeep track sections. The 20 km winds its way towards the boundary fence, and here you are often treated to sightings of Giraffe, Eland and Zebra. The various route options offer differing levels of technical difficulty, which gives the experienced trail runners the opportunity to exercise their skills, or less experienced runners the chance to walk and enjoy the scenic surrounds.
Captain Carrot’s 12 and 20 km routes will also take you to the highest point in the Magalies mountain range where the view is simply breathtaking. There will be a briefing before the race starts, and markers on the routes. All runners that finish will receive a handcrafted medal and refreshing drink before the prize giving.
